Stars bursting in joyous celebration create a wave of excitement as they patriotically parade around the rim of a cobalt blue drinking glass.
Perfect for Memorial Day or Fourth of July, these colorful glasses are just as delightful for any barbeque, birthday party or even New Year's Eve. Make some in red and clear too, for a truly patriotic table!
Supplies:
Directions:
- Make a nest with a towel and nestle the glass in the middle. The towel will keep the glass from rolling around on the table while you are working with it.
- Wrap the star border from stencil #21-1625 about 1/2 " down from the top rim of the tumbler.
- Place the vertical star explosion for stencil #21-1624 on one side. Apply the pair of stars stencils to either side.
- Cover all exposed areas of the glass in and around all the stencils with masking tape, overlapping all the edges of the stencil and other pieces of tape. All exposed glass around outside of stencil and anyplace the water will rinse over, should be covered with tape.
- Apply the Armour Etch Cream with a brush to the open areas of the stencil by patting on the cream until the design is completely covered. Follow directions that come with the Over N Over stencils. Wait 1-2 minutes. Rinse off the Etch cream; To view the directions and How to Video. Click HERE
- Rinse stencils under running water until cream is gone. Remove the stencils and tape and rinse again. Wash glass with dish detergent Pat dry
- If your etchings do not show well on the blue glass, you can opt to brighten them with Rub N Buff. Place a small dab (use sparingly) of white, gold, silver or bronze RNB on a piece of soft paper towel wrapped around your finger. Working in sections, smear RNB over etchings (you do not have to worry about it going all over the place right now). Continue to rub over the etchings and the RNB will start to come back off the shiny glass and only stick to the etching. Turn paper towel around and buff to a luster.
