Have some fun cutting an fish shaped Italian wine bottle into an art object
Materials: #77-7721 Armour Bottle and Jar Cutter #15-0275 Etch Bath #08-9606 Craft brush #08-9999 Gloves #15-0315 Glass cleaner Gold, Silver, Black acrylic glass paints Fish wine bottle Plastic container slightly larger than bottle for dipping Newspaper Safety goggles Canvas puncture resistant gloves (gardening type work well) Paper towels Directions:: 1. Put on the canvas gloves and safety glasses. 2. Oil the cutter wheel and set up Bottle cutter as specified in the instruction booklet. 3. Cut off entire neck of the bottle . Follow the instructions that come with your Bottle cutter.. View the directions and How to Videos 4. Lay out newspaper on work surface. Gently sand off the sharp cut edges with the sandpaper provided with your kit. 5. Clean bottle well with glass cleaner to remove any dust and residue from cutting and sanding. 6. Follow Etch Bath instructions on our website to prepare container for dipping bottle. Place container on newspaper. 7. Put on rubber gloves, dip bottle in Etch Bath until frosted (10-15 min). Rinse and dry bottle. Decorating the bottle: 1. Paint face and base of fish with black paint. 2. Paint eyes, gills and every other row of scales with silver paint. 3. Paint remaining areas with gold paint. Suggestions: 1. Fish can also be Rub N Buffed in one or two colors. 2. Instead of decorating the fish with gold and silver, you can color it with #86-7321 Glass and Ceramic markers instead. |
