Frosty the snowman is a fairy tale they say, he was made of snow but the children know how he came to life one day. Etched on a crystal iceberg, some of the design is on the front, some on the backside for a three dimensional effect!. Our little guy is embellished with rhinestones and so are the snowflakes for added sparkle. We made our scene with the Rub N Etch stencils, but you can also use our Over N Over snowman, tree and snowflake stencils for a slightly different look. Try placing the iceberg near a colored light source and the light will make the iceberg glow with color! Supplies: #15-0200 Armour glass etching cream #20-0483 Rub N Etch Holiday Bows #20-0446 Rub N Etch Christmas Trees #20-0484 Rub N Etch Snowflakes #08-9606 Brushes #08-9999 Gloves #08-9415 Masking Tape #15-0315 Armour Glass Cleaner #61-3340 Dazzle Tac glue #08-9777 Scissors Iceberg or other 2 sided flat glass red, white rhinestones Toothpick Scrap of tin foil Paper towels Directions: 1. Clean the iceberg with glass cleaner and a soft paper towel. 2. Cut the snowman from the Holiday Bows stencil sheet 3. Apply snowman stencil to the right hand side of the iceberg by rubbing it onto the glass using the popsicle stick that came in your package. 4. Cut a vertical strip of snowflakes from the snowflake stencil sheet 5. Hold the strip down onto the glass and randomly rub down a few snowflakes across the face of the iceberg. Leave spaces, you will be applying some snowflakes to the backside of the iceberg later, along with a trio of trees that will show thru the front opposite the snowman. You want to be able to view the front and backside etchings without them overlapping when viewed 6. Cover all exposed areas of the glass around the stencils with masking tape, overlapping all the edges. Entire face of iceberg should be protected with tape. 7. Pat the Etch Cream on the stencils with the brush (do not brush it on) until stencils are covered in a 1/4 inch of cream. View the directions and How to Video. Click HERE 8. Wait 2 minutes and rinse off stencils under running water until no cream remains Remove the stencils and tape under running water. Pat iceberg dry 9.L ay the iceberg down on the other side that has not been etched yet. Cut the trio of trees from the stencil sheet. 10. Apply the trees to the right hand side of the iceberg. Apply snowflakes in between the spots where the snowflakes appear from the other side. Also avoid placing one where the snowman shows thru. 11. Repeat steps 6 thru 8 12. Squeeze a small amount of glue onto a piece of tin foil. Dip the toothpick in the glue and dab onto glass where you would like a rhinestone. Apply red rhinestone buttons down the front of the snowman. Apply a clear rhinestone to the center of each snowflake. |
