Repeat step 3 and apply the medium stars, then the small ones and finally the tiny stars. Follow the directions that come with your stencil package. Fill all gaps between the stencils with overlapping pieces of masking tape.
Perfect for Memorial Day or Fourth of July, these colorful glasses are just as delightful for any barbeque, birthday party or even New Year’s Eve. Make some in red and clear too, for a truly patriotic table!

Supplies:
#15-0150 Armour Glass Etch Cream
#21-1625 Over N Over stencil- Sparkle Borders
#21-1624 Over N Over stencil- Party Elements
#08-9415 Masking Tape
#15-0315 Glass cleaner
#08-9606 brushes
#61-3329 (Optional) Metallic Rub N Buff (RNB)
Blue glass tumblers
Soft paper towels
Old bath or dish towel

Directions:

1. Make a nest with a towel and nestle the glass in the middle. The towel will keep the glass from rolling around on the table while you are working with it.

2. Wrap the star border from stencil #21-1625 about 1/2 “ down from the top rim of the tumbler.

3. Place the vertical star explosion for stencil #21-1624 on one side. Apply the pair of stars stencils to either side.

4. Cover all exposed areas of the glass in and around all the stencils with masking tape, overlapping all the edges of the stencil and other pieces of tape. All exposed glass around outside of stencil and anyplace the water will rinse over, should be covered with tape.

5. Apply the Armour Etch Cream with a brush to the open areas of the stencil by patting on the cream until the design is completely covered. Follow directions that come with the Over N Over stencils. Wait 1-2 minutes. Rinse off the Etch cream; To view the directions and How to Video. Click HERE

6. Rinse stencils under running water until cream is gone. Remove the stencils and tape and rinse again. Wash glass with dish detergent Pat dry

7. If your etchings do not show well on the blue glass, you can opt to brighten them with Rub N Buff. Place a small dab (use sparingly) of white, gold, silver or bronze RNB on a piece of soft paper towel wrapped around your finger. Working in sections, smear RNB over etchings (you do not have to worry about it going all over the place right now). Continue to rub over the etchings and the RNB will start to come back off the shiny glass and only stick to the etching. Turn paper towel around and buff to a luster.

Wash glasses and then clean with Glass cleaner before starting project

Cut one of the large hearts from stencil sheet 20-0479.

Holding the heart stencil upside down, rub stencil in the middle of the vase’s bowl. Gently rub over stencil with frosted backing paper. Follow directions that come with your Rub N Etch stencil package.

Cut two large circles from the same stencil sheet as the heart.

Rub one circle down on either side of the heart nose.

Cut two strips of zig-zag borders from stencil sheet 20-0452 for the whiskers. Trim half of the blue resist away on either side of the zig zag.

Divide each stencil into thirds (if you are using a larger vase, use three strips and cut each strip in half).

Rub down one piece of zig-zag stencil horizontally about ¾” away from either side of nose. Apply two more zig-zag pieces to each side of the nose, starting the end nearest the nose and angling outward forming a V.

Cut a crescent moon from stencil sheet 20-0453. Rub down under nose to form a mouth.

Cut slivers of tape and fit them in between the stencil material, overlapping all edges. Cover the rest of the face of the vase with tape all the way down to the base, as this will be the direction in which the Etch Cream will be rinsed off. Overlap all edges, hold vase up to light to check for bare spots. Fill in any gaps with tape.

11. Apply Armour Etch glass etching cream to the stencil View the directions and “How To “ video HERE

Rinse cream off the glass, remove stencils, rinse again and dry

Decorate the Bunny’s face:

1. If etching is not bright enough, apply white Rub N Buff to etchings before going to the next step.

2. Squeeze a small amount of glue on a piece of wax paper or tin foil. Load the end of a toothpick with a pinhead amount of glue and make a dot at the bottom of each of the frosted circles for eyes. Place a hot pink or blue rhinestone on the glue dot with tweezers and gently press down.

3. Next, glue a cluster of 3 small pink rhinestones on either side of the nose in front of the whiskers. Group them in a triangle formation (as shown in picture) Let dry

Make the Bunny Ears:

1. Bring the four corners of the tissue paper or florist fabric together, and hold the ends together in one hand. Shove the bottom end of the tissue paper into the bowl as far as it will go.

2. Separate the four ends of the tissue paper into two bunches so the middle is open to the inside of the bowl. Fill with Easter candy, easing in more of the tissue as you fill the bowl if it needs it, to avoid tearing the tissue.

3. Draw the four corners of the tissue back up together again and slip a pre-made elastic bow down over the ears until it is level with the top of the vase, or tie loosely with a piece of ribbon.

4. Separate the four corners of the tissue again into two bunches and arrange them so one pair is on either side of the bunny’s face. Working on one side at a time, take the shorter of the two pieces and tuck beneath the longer one. Fold and crease the ear lengthwise, then bend ear in half the other way so it flops over halfway down, (refer to picture) . Repeat with the other ear.

Happy Easter!

Entertain guests this Easter with these adorable etched Easter Bunny goblets. Fill them with jellybeans, Easter candy, flowers, or egg shaped candles. Sprinkle them around the room or place one at each plate as favors.

To make our bunny, we reverse etched the bunny’s face on tulip shaped wine glasses, using simple, geometric shaped stencils and pinstripe tape for whiskers. Then we added felt glittered ears and a sheer bowtie around the stem to complete the look.

We think our Easter Bunny is outstanding and hope you think so too…it’s sure to be a big hit with the children!

Supplies:
Sandblaster or #15-0275 Etch Bath (this method will also frost inside of glass)
#19-2704 Sunrise- Etch Bath stencil (2 required)
#19-2702 Circles, squares & triangles- Etch Bath stencils
#25-4000 Pinstripe border
#08-9777 Scissors
#15-0315 Glass cleaner
#61-3340 Dazzle Tac Glue
Paper towels
Tulip shaped wine glass or stemmed brandy snifter w/ flared top (bowl size of our glass is 2 ¾” at opening x 4” at bottom x 4” long)
Green sheer ribbon about 12” long
2 Royal blue Rhinestones 7 or 8 mm
6 Hot pink rhinestones 3 or 4 mm
1 Square each of white & pink felt (or use ears from a child’s costume bunny ear headband)
8 ½”x11” piece of scrap paper
Hot glue gun
Tape measure
Tweezers
Pencil
Optional: For Glitter Ears you will need White iridescent glitter dust from Glitter it kit # 61-3351 and Easy Tack Spray adhesive #61-2731

Helpful Hints:

1)Please note: If your wine glass or brandy snifter is a different dimension than our project, you may have to adjust the sizes of the stencils and ears to proportion it properly.

2)Goblet must be hand cleaned because of the ears. Not recommended for food other than coated candy or wrapped food. Use as a candy dish only. If you wish to use goblets for food such as dessert glasses, do not add the felt ears or etch the inside of the goblet.

Directions:

Wash glasses and then clean with Glass cleaner before starting project

Remove the 19-2704 Etch Bath stencils from both packages

First apply the eyes: Find the third from the smallest sun design on each stencil sheet. It is the one that has detached triangular sunrays surrounding the circle. Cut one from each sheet.

Peel off the backing from one of the sun stencils so the sticky side of the stencil is exposed. Make sure all the pieces stay in place and are adhered to the top cover sheet. Apply the stencil so the top of the design is about ¾”down from the top of the wine glass. Remove top cover sheet. Now make sure all the pieces stick to the glass not the cover sheet. Peel off the outer vinyl stencil material, leaving only the circle and individual sunrays on the glass.

Repeat with the second sun stencil, placing it ¾” down from the top as well, but also spacing it ½” to the right of the first one. Remove outer stencil material as you did with the first eye.

Remove some of triangle sunrays around the circle of each eye, leaving only the top five to create eyelashes

Form the nose: Cut out one of the largest triangles from stencil sheet #19-2702. Hold the triangle so the point is down and nip off the right and left corners to form a nose.

Apply triangle in between and just below the eyes

Apply the mouth: Cut out one of the largest circles from stencil sheet #19-2702. Cut off 1/4 of the circle. Apply ¼” below nose with flat side up

Apply the whiskers: Unroll the pinstripe tape on the roll. Cut 2 pieces from the roll 2 ½” long. Remove the clear top cover from the tape segment and peel off one of the narrow white vinyl strips.

Apply three narrow strips to either side of the nose creating a V pattern (see photo for placement) Depending on the width of your glass, you may need to trim the length of the whiskers to a pleasing and reasonable length. Cut the center one a little shorter than the outer ones.

Gently rub over all the stencil pieces to ensure they are tightly adhered to the glass.

Spray a little glass cleaner on a paper towel and carefully clean in and around the stencil pieces to remove any oil from your hands.

Frost by your preferred method: Sandblasting or dipping in the Etch Bath solution (Etch Bath method will also frost the inside of the glass), following directions on the package or that came with your kit. If you are using Etch Bath, dip glass upside down into solution and leave stem clear.

Rinse off the glass, remove stencils, rinse again and dry

Decorate the Bunny’s face: Glue a blue rhinestone in the bottom of each eye using Dazzle Tac. Glue a pink rhinestone at the end of each whisker under the nose. Group them in a triangle formation (as shown in picture)

You can make bunny ears yourself form felt (directions below) or you can buy pre-made ears that come on a child’s costume headband, cut them off and then skip to step 20 and 21

Make the Bunny Ears: Measure from top of wine glass down to top of the stem. Make a template by folding a scrap of paper in half lengthwise and mark the measurement you took on the fold. Draw the shape of half a bunny ear (sort of teardrop shape with a flat tip at the top). The widest end should be about 1 1/2” wide and about ¾” wide on the narrow end. Cut along your line and open flat. This is your ear template. Trace around template with a pencil onto white felt twice to make two ears. Cut out ears.

Fold template back in half again along the same fold line. Trim away about a ½” of the long cut edge, but not across the top of the narrow end. This is now your template for the inside of the ear. Open paper and trace around template with a pencil onto the pink felt twice and cut them out, just like you did for the white pieces.

Apply a thin bead of hot glue around edge of one piece of pink felt inner ear. Center over one of the white felt outer ears and press down. Repeat for other ear. To have glitter ears, lightly spray Easy Tack adhesive on the solid white side of each ear. Immediately dust lightly with some of the white iridescent glitter. Let dry

Apply Bunny ears to the glass: Place a bead of hot glue along the top inside edge of each ear (on the pink felt). Fold down the top edge of each ear to the inside about a ½”. Squeeze until set. Now apply another bead of glue to the folded edge and stick ear to side of glass. Hold ear in place for a minute until it holds to the glass by itself.

Tie green ribbon around stem and make into a bow. Trim tails, make V-cuts in the ends of the ribbon tails

Assorted 4-5 mm colored rhinestones-your choice (we used lavender and aqua)
3”x4” square pink felt (or color of your choice)
3” x 1/3” pc yellow felt (or color of your choice)
Paper towels
Tweezers
Pencil

Directions:

1. Clean paperweight with glass cleaner

2. Gently peel the rope design from the Flower Border stencil sheet. Determine the center of the paperweight and apply stencil border to the middle section. Wrap the stencil down the sides and around to the back, you will be etching the sides as well, so make sure the stencil is flat on the sides as well. Work it until all portions of the stencil lay flat.Tape down the ends of the stencil on the underside to secure it.

3. You will be etching the border alone, so cover all exposed areas of the glass on either side of the border stencil with masking tape, including the sides. Be sure to overlap all the edges of the stencil and other pieces of tape

4. Apply the Armour Etch Cream with a brush to the open areas of the stencil by patting on the cream until the design is completely covered. Follow directions that come with your Over N Over stencil or click HERE or if your etching with your Sand Etch kit (following instructions that come with your Sand Etch kit)

5. Wait 2-3 minutes. Rinse off the Etch cream; Remove the stencil. Rinse again. Dry well with paper towels

6. Gently peel the two daisy designs (or desired flower) from the Flower stencil sheet. Apply the two flowers side by side to one end of the paperweight (as shown). If you only have one flower stencil sheet, follow step 3-5, then repeat with a single flower on the other end. If you have more than one flower stencil sheet, you can apply all the flower stencils at the same time and etch them together.

7. Clean with Glass Cleaner and dry completely

8. If your etchings are not as bright as you would like, apply white Rub N Buff with a piece of paper towel and buff until it remains only is on the etchings

9. Apply a dot of Dazzle Tac glue to the centers of all the flowers. Using a tweezer, apply rhinestones to the flower centers over the glue dots. Let dry

10. Lay paperweight on the square of pink felt. Trace around the outside of the paperweight onto the felt with a pencil. Remove paperweight and cut out felt along your pencil marks. Set aside

Leftover green Christmas balls get transformed into lucky St Patrick’s Day ornaments using Sand Etch and the new Irish Over N Over stencil sheet.

Etch a garland full of these delightful gems, there are eight different designs on the stencil sheet to choose from. Of course, we chose the pot o’ gold!

Supplies:
#70-9001 Sand Etch kit
#21-1631 Irish stencil sheet
#08-9415 Masking Tape
Soft paper towels
Directions:
Helpful hints: Before getting started, one note: The adhesive on the tape and the stencil may want to stick to the colored coating on the ball. Sand Etch immediately after applying them to the ball and remove as soon as possible to avoid this from happening.

1. Clean one side of the ball with a paper towel
2. Gently peel the pot o’ gold from the stencil sheet and apply to the middle of the ball. Lay the strip with the shamrocks on it along one side of the pot o’ gold bending it slightly into a curve, overlapping the edges of the other stencil.
3. Apply a cut strip of masking tape over where the two stencils meet to secure them.
4. Apply a single row of masking tape around the outside edge of the stencils, overlapping edges. Protect the rest of the ball by covering in paper towel.
5. Etch with your Sand Etch system. The green coloring will come off quite quickly and easily. Spray briefly until the glass underneath appears evenly frosted. Follow the instructions that come with your kit or click HERE6. Immediately remove stencils and tape under running water.
7. Apply shamrock stencil strip down right side of Pot o’ gold, tape and Sand Etch stencil. Rinse until there is no abrasive on the ball. Any abrasive remaining could scratch the ball. Pat dry
8. Use the glass cleaner to remove any adhesive stuck to the ball
