Be My Valentine Paperweight
Read My Lips!
Make sure the love of your life gets the message and never forgets it…
Plant your lips all over a cube paperweight, and ask for their undying love!
Supplies:
- #60-3870 Beveled cube paperweight
- c-valentine-stencils-Made to Order- 6 stencils needed (w/ no custom name)
- #61-5020 Pencil Bottle Blaster or Armour Glass Etch Cream
- #85-2146 Stylus/Burnisher
- #08-9415 Masking Tape
- #08-9777 Scissors
- #15-0315 Glass cleaner
- Paper towels
- Optional: #60-3750S Lighted Base
Directions:
- Carefully cut the stencil apart between the lips and the “Be My Valentine” Take 5 of the “Be my Valentine” ‘s and put them away, they are not needed for this project. Set the 6th one aside for later.
- Place the cube upright on it’s flattened corner so it is situated as it will be displayed later.
- Clean the cube with glass cleaner.
- Center one of the lips stencils in the middle of each side of the cube.
- Carefully cut the 6th “Be My Valentine” stencil that was set aside in between the “Be My” and the word “Valentine”.
- Place the “Be My” above the lips on one side and the “Valentine” below the lips. Overlap the edges of the stencils where they meet so you will not have to put a strip of masking tape between them later
- Pick out all the pieces of the stencil with the Stylus using the pointed end
- Overlap pieces of masking tape in all open areas of the cube that will not be etched.
- Sandblast with the Pencil Bottle Blaster or etch with Armour Etch glass etching cream by patting on the cream until the design is completely covered. Follow directions that come with the Made to Order stencil. View the directions and How to Video. Click HERE
- Rinse off abrasive under running water if you sandblasted your project. If you used Etch Cream, wait 1-2 minutes, then rinse off the Etch cream under warm, running water
- Remove the stencils and tape completely from the project.
12. Clean with Glass Cleaner and dry completely
