Fish Decanter
Supplies:
- #77-7721 Armour Bottle & Jar Cutter
- #15-0275 Etch Bath
- #15-0315 Glass cleaner
- #08-9999 Rubber gloves
- #08-9606 Craft brush
- Gold, Silver & Black acrylic glass paints
- Fish bottle
- Cork
- Plastic container slightly larger than bottle for dipping
- Newspaper
- Eye protection
- Canvas gloves (gardening type work well)
- Cutter wheel oil
- Paper towels
General Instructions:
- Put on canvas gloves and eye protection.
- Oil the cutter wheel and set up Bottle cutter as specified in the instruction booklet.
- Cut off entire neck of the bottle . Follow the instructions that come with your Bottle cutter.. View the directions and How to Videos
- Lay out newspaper on work surface. Gently sand off the sharp cut edges with the sandpaper provided with your kit.
- Clean bottle well with glass cleaner to remove any dust and residue from cutting and sanding.
- Follow Etch Bath instructions on our website to prepare container for dipping bottle. Place container on newspaper.
- Put on rubber gloves, dip bottle in Etch Bath until frosted (10-15 min). Rinse and dry bottle.
Decorating the bottle:
- Paint face and base of fish with black paint.
- Paint eyes, gills and every other row of scales with silver paint.
- Paint remaining areas with gold paint.
Suggestions:
- Fish can also be Rub N Buffed in one or two colors.
- Try our #86-7321 Glass & Ceramic markers on a clear glass fish for a rainbow finish.
