Words of Love Glass block vase

Supplies:

How do I love thee?  Let me etch the ways!

We took a plain glass block and turned it into a very romantic vase. Romantic phrases and a long stem rose were etched onto one side of the glass block.  Display the finished item with some silk stemmed Roses to make a great Valentine’s Day or a special occasion like an Engagement party bright and cheery!

Directions:

  1. Etch the corners and center of the glass block with the stencils from the Romantic Moments stencil pack.  Follow the directions that come with the stencils.
  2. Apply Armour Etch to the stencils. View the directions and How To Videos.
  3. Wash off and dry according to the etching directions.
  4. Choose a metallic wax color (we used bronze for this project) and rub the color onto the areas that are etched.
  5. Wipe off the metallic wax.  The color will only stay in the areas that were etched.
  6. Optional:  Add some rhinestones for pizazz.

note:  The metallic wax coloring will wash off after 5-6 washings.  The etching is permanent.

To finish this project:

  1. The inside of the block was coated with iridescent glitter/glue.  The excess was poured out and saved for other projects.
  2. Add a few battery tealight candles inside the block.  Or a set of battery operated mini lights.  Or, how about some silk Roses or flowers.
